Cubeicle - 3D Puzzle
Cubeicle is a first person 3d puzzle game which is currently in production. In this project I have programmed a multitude of components. The first and most important of which being an orbital camera system. The orbital camera allows the player to pause the game and view the entirety of the puzzle. Because the player can walk on all 6 sides of the level it is easy to lose their sense of direction in the level. The orbital camera allows the player to see where they are in the level and plan their next move.
A couple of other aspects of the game I programmed were the timer and scoring mechanism, which takes the time remaining upon completing the level and modifies it to become a multiplier for the overall score. I also successfully implemented all of the audio into the game. including an array of boss sayings which play at random when beginning the level
Also our initial plan called for many
iterations of the level and teleporting
between them. To program the AI I had
to find a way to have the enemy move
congruently across these iterations,
while orienting the enemy differently.
i was able to do this by setting up
checkpoints on the level and having the
enemies patrol through them.
